Wendy Hammond Psychotherapy and Coaching Services

Psychotherapy is a treatment that addresses personal growth as well as psychological distress and problems in life. Psychotherapy and coaching are collaborative processes.

Since psychotherapy, and often coaching, involves the exploration and processing of uncomfortable aspects of life, you may at times experience difficult feelings like sadness, guilt, anger, depression and frustration during the process. Coaching may also bring up difficult emotions.

On the plus side, both have been shown to have clear and important benefits for those clients who follow through with it.

Appointments and Fees

Once an appointment is scheduled, you will be expected to pay for it unless you provide 24-hours advance notice of cancellation.

All fees are due and payable upon services rendered.

Contacting Me

I have a voice mail on which you can leave me a confidential message. No one besides me has access to this voice mail account. I will make every effort to return your call on the same day. Messages left after 8pm may be returned on the following day.

If you need to contact me between sessions due to an urgent matter, I will do my best to accommodate you. However, I cannot guarantee that I will be able to respond immediately. If the time is not right for us to speak, we can schedule a better time to call, or an emergency session. I am able to provide phone support for up to 15 minutes. If more support than this is called for, I would recommend an extra session which will be charged at the normal rate.

If I am unavailable for an extended time, I will provide you with the name of a colleague to contact, if necessary.

Dreams

I often find it useful to work with dreams if you are able to remember them. If you wish, you are welcome to email me your dreams between sessions and we can discuss them at your next appointment. I will not respond by email, but will print them out in case you do choose to talk about them in your session.

Client’s Rights

You have the right to end our partnership at any time, for any reason. To give us a chance to end our partnership properly a minimum of three weeks’ notice is recommended. However, this is entirely up to you.

Psychotherapy never includes a sexual relationship nor does it include sexual contact of any kind. Sexual contact between a psychotherapist and his/her client is both illegal and unethical and should be reported immediately.

To protect your confidentiality as my client, if we should happen to see each other in public, I will not acknowledge you unless you acknowledge me first.

You also have a right to question any aspect of your treatment, and to expect, if requested, that I will provide you with a referral to another qualified therapist for adjunctive or alternative treatment.

Please feel free to speak to me if you have any questions or concerns.
